in the provision of education services with particular reference to maintenance
of consistently high academic standards and a high regard for student‘s academic
success and welfare.
Integrity in Promotion to
International Students
Observe
Portman’s Code of Practices for Marketers by its staff and appointed agents in
the promotion and recruitment of students, act in the best interests of the
student through accurate, truthful and timely information that fairly position
Portman and its partnering universities courses in terms of quality, standing,
availability, entry requirements, tuition fees, living costs, accommodation and
other services while avoiding misrepresentation of other competing providers.
Fairness in Counseling and Recruitment
Ensuring
that student’s educational needs are paramount in counseling and that selection
criteria and decision ensure reasonable success for the student enrolled; and
that students so recruited contributes to a conducive study environment within
Portman and the maintenance of high academic standards.
Quality Learning Delivery, Learning Support and Graduate Outcome
In
fulfillment of Portman’s commitment to education excellence, Portman shall
ensure high quality learning delivery that utilizes the state-of-the-arts
delivery means by industry professionals, and high quality learning support that
result in Graduate Students that are relevant to industry and have potential for
future professional and academic development. Academic performance shall be the
sole deciding consideration in the determination of success and awards earned by
students.
Service Support and Pastoral Care
The
support services, facilities, learning environment and pastoral care offered to
international students will allow them to concentrate, without distraction, on
their studies and to give them a good impression of Singapore education.
Confidentiality Policy
Portman is
committed to maintain the confidentiality of the student’s personal information
and undertakes not to divulge any of the student’s personal information to any
third party (except government authorities) without the prior written consent of
the student.
Student Protection
Scheme
The Student Protection Scheme (SPS) serves to protect the students’ tuition fees (both international and local students) in the event a Private Education Organisation (PEO) is unable to continue operations due to insolvency, and/or regulatory closure. Furthermore, the SPS protects the student if the PEO fails to pay penalties or return fees to the student arising from judgments made against it by the Singapore courts.
Portman has introduced, on 1 December 2004, the Consumer Association of Singapore-endorsed Student Protection Scheme and has opted for the Student Escrow Scheme. Through this scheme, applicants and students’ paid fees are protected in accordance with CASE-recommended standard contract, and the Portman Refund Policy.
It is Portman’s declared policy to sign the CASE-recommended Student Contract with the student or legal guardian prior to enrolment.
Portman is also committed to adhere to, with full integrity, the Portman Refund Policy that is communicated in its brochures and website.
Portman is totally committed to fulfill its obligations under the declared Student Service Guarantee Statement. This Statement covers our dedication to quality learning delivery, quality learning support, and pastoral care and welfare for the Student. Fulfillment of the said Statement will be achieved with state-of-art teaching delivery methods, by professional lecturers with strong industrial links, by Portman staff acting with firmness and friendliness and our declared ethical practices enshrined in our Constitution.
Students’ feedback on service and course matters are important to help Portman improve and accomplish its obligations to the students. We view feedback, both negative and positive ones, as building blocks to help us on our pursuit to service and education excellence.
We, in Portman, unequivocally support CASE’s transparency guidelines and policies with regards to fairness in all dealings with our students in all matters and especially issues related to course entry pre-requisites, course details, enrolment information and contract, refund of course fees, and transfer and withdrawal regulations.
Portman
undertakes to observe Portman Confidentiality Policy with regards to student
personal information with declarations in our communication material and through
our Confidentiality Undertaking.

Portman lecturer to student ratios are:
English Language Courses: 1 to 20.
Portman Advanced Diploma Program courses: 1 to 40 (average) with a maximum of 60 per class.
Portman Partner Universities Affiliated Degree Program courses: 1 to 20 (average) with a maximum of 60 per class.
The capacity of the school in Portman is 250 per session or a total 1000 international students.
6 classrooms with size ranging from 30 to 80 seats.
Portman
have 35 registered sessional and full-time academic lecturers.
